Dining on the Disney Dream – Pt. 2

We’re back today with part two of AJ Wolfe’s look at dining aboard Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship – the Disney Dream. (Click here in case you missed part one.) AJ takes us to some of the Dream’s fast food, or counter-service options, as well as to Castaway Cay, Disney’s private Bahamian paradise. Then, we look at some of the adults-only areas on the ship.

Counter-Service Options

Flo’s V-8 Cafe is located pool-side offering pizza, sandwiches and grilled items to savor in the sun! And Deck 11 Aft is where you’ll find the popular Eye Scream ice cream which is self-serve in a dish or cone, all-you-can eat while aboard the Disney Dream (have the caramel sauce!).

Castaway Cay

Cookie’s BBQ is an outdoor, barbecue feast served on the paradise-like island, Castaway Cay. Includes self-serve ice cream and a beverage refill station. There are nearby pavilions for shaded dining. No set dining schedule. Just pop in when you need a bite and then get back to the beautiful beach! Cookies Too BBQ serves up island grill fare just steps from the family beach. Both locations serve an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. And, for the grown-ups, Serenity Bay serves the same barbecue you can get at the other two locations on the island.

Bars serve specialty drinks, beer and other potables. The Sand Bar is located near the sandy Castaway Family Beach and serves up the signature drink of Castaway Cay, the Konk Kooler. Located near the gazebo, the Conched Out Bar is a popular watering hole with cruisers.

It’s Adults Only at Serenity Bay! Enjoy a beverage at the Castaway Air Bar which offers light snacks and a fantastic ocean view. This fun bar is aviation-inspired with references to WWII fly-boys.

Need some liquid courage before you swim with the Stingrays? The Heads Up Bar is conveniently located near Castaway Ray’s. Pull up a chair next to the ocean and watch out for seagulls!

Adults-Only Dining on the Ship

Palo returns to the Disney Dream, and a new restaurant, Remy, opens its doors! Palo appeals to just about everyone, with its Northern Italian focus, incredible food, and gorgeous view! You’ll pay an extra $20 to dine here, but we love it. Brunch and dinner are available, and both sell out fast!

Remy, developed by Chef Scott Hunnel from Disney World’s Victoria and Albert’s and Chef Arnaud Lallement from L’Assiette Champenoise, a Michelin two-star restaurant located just outside Reims, France, offers guests an incredibly high-end, multi-course meal that will cost an extra $75 on top of your Cruise price. (It’s worth it!)

There’s so much food on the ship and at Castaway Cay, you’re not likely to get bored! And don’t forget — you’ve paid for all of it, so everything’s all-you-can-eat! 🙂
